Stan Radabaugh

Certified CrossFit Level 2 Coach

I started my CrossFit journey in 2019 when my daughter Abby (also a Fenix coach) found a local box. Thanks to the gym’s owner, Matt, had such a positive influence, not only on my physical health, but my mental well-being, that CrossFit soon became a habit.

When I started out, I wasn’t even able to attend 2 days in a row because I was so sore. Now it feels weird if I miss more than 2 days in a row. Matt also taught me about active recovery, so that instead of skipping the gym when I was tired or sore, I would go to the gym but cut back on the intensity and just move.

My motivation to become a Level 1 Coach started with Fenix's participation at the Wood County Juvenile Residential Center. We’ve taken CrossFit to the young men in the facility and have seen amazing results. As the students take part in the workouts, not on have they become physical stronger, they’ve also grown in character and mental fortitude. It has been very rewarding and also very humbling helping these young men achieve things they never thought possible.

I have always been physically active, playing 3 sports in high school and competitive softball for 20 years, including some periods where I was on 4 teams at once.

Currently, outside of Fenix you may find me on a golf course, getting too many swings in! I’ve also been working in the usher program at Notre Dame Stadium for home football games since 2002. And I enjoy riding my Indian motorcycle, roller coasters and long walks on the beach.

I grew up in a small village in the northwest corner of Ohio and have been in Toledo since 1986, and I’ve worked for the same company in the ready-mixed concrete industry since 1989.

My wife Brigitte (also a gym member) and I have two daughters Alyssa and Abby, and we reside in Holland.

I look forward to seeing you at the white board.

 3, 2, 1, Go!
