Reece Bauman

Certified CrossFit Level 1 Coach

Hi, my name is Reece. I was born in Toledo, Ohio and graduated from Perrysburg High School before attending University of Toledo where I am on a pre-law track. I’m also a contracted cadet in the ROTC Program at the UT, and a member of the Ohio Army National Guard.

My whole family has always been active in sports and fitness, and we’ve been involved in CrossFit for more than a decade. Personally, I view CrossFit as the epicenter of all training domains. I’ve found that CrossFit has helped my all-around fitness by improving my cardio, increasing my strength, fine-tuning my coordination and making me more explosive. Whenever I go to a CrossFit class I can expect to have the opportunity to work on all these aspects. I have always loved lifting the most, however I am currently focusing on building my engine.

I received my L-1 training Certification in Spring of 2025 and started coaching at Fenix around that same time. I am also part of a team of Fenix staff and athletes who coach CrossFit classes at the Wood County Juvenile Residential Center, where we work with teenage boys and young men to help them channel their energy into fitness and physical activity while serving as positive role models.

While my duties and academic commitments don’t leave me with tons of free time, when I do have some time, I enjoy playing pickleball, going to the movies (my favorite is Superman), and watching my girlfriend play soccer at the University of Findlay.
