Every Memorial Day, citizens all across the country, including every CrossFit gym community, participates in what has come to be known as The Murph! In honor of the Lt. Michael Murphy who made the ultimate sacrifice while fighting on behalf of the United States, athletes take on a workout that begins with a 1-mile run, followed by 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups and 300 air squats (partitioned in any fashion), and finishes with another 1-mile run, while wearing a weighted vest. It’s a workout that was a favorite of Lt. Murphy. We encourage all of our CrossFit Fenix members to ‘do the Murph’ and we invite any and all community members to come workout with us that morning. Heat times are 7:00, 8:00, 9:00, 10:00, & 11:00AM (Kids Mini-Murph). Claim your spot in the Wodify App.

If the workout sounds a little intimidating, don’t worry! Most athletes will scale to more manageable movements, work without the vest or split the reps with a partner.
